Bistro & bakery
Bowls, cakes and coffee on the ground floor, under a green neon sign. Light food, made here, gone when it is gone.

— hostel in Åndalsnes, NorwayA small, loud, family-run hostel in Åndalsnes. 7 different rooms and one caravan, a bistro and a second-hand shop, all under the same roof — with Romsdalen starting where the street ends.
Property video
Filmed by us, in summer. Rooms, garden, caravan, bistro and the second-hand racks — nothing staged, nothing borrowed from a stock library.
Romsdalen, Norway
The mountain village at the head of Romsdalsfjorden, where the Rauma railway stops and the ridges start. Our front door is a ten-minute walk from the water and about the same from the first trailhead.

Seven different rooms and one caravan — book them straight from us. We match or beat partner prices, so there is never a reason to go the long way round.
About
We are a family business that wants to put some colour into the everyday of locals and travellers alike.
One house that offers experiences and impressions.
We are a first-come-first-served business: we produce in limited runs and turn unavailability to our advantage.
The house flows freely — one thing tempts you into the next.
Life is too short to be normal.

What to do
The sign over the door says bistro, hostel and second hand, because that is what is behind it. Everything below is under the same roof, or in its garden.

Bowls, cakes and coffee on the ground floor, under a green neon sign. Light food, made here, gone when it is gone.

second hand
Racks of upcycled knitwear and jackets in the front room. Rent it, wear it, bring it back — or keep it.

outside
Mismatched chairs, apple trees and a caravan. The place people end up in the evening without planning to.

Åndalsnes
Romsdalen: the fjord, the Rampestreken viewpoint, Trollstigen and the Romsdalseggen ridge. The mountains start where the street ends.
Picture gallery
Playful and colourful, retro and — to a certain degree — timeless. No two rooms in the house look alike, and none of them look like a hotel.

Getting here
Åndalsnes sits at the head of Romsdalsfjorden, where the Rauma railway ends and the E136 runs through. Come by train, bus, car or bike — the house is in the village itself, not out on a motorway junction.
